Kasbah Omar is an authentic, luxurious, boutique style hotel situated in the midst of an ancient Berber village, overlooking the beautiful Ourika Valley, just 40 minutes from the Marrakesh Medina. It’s a peaceful place where bird songs, the braying of donkeys and the Call to Prayer become your sound scape, and the distant mountain views, graceful arches and a riot of flowers help to relax, inspire and rejuvenate your mind.

Our rooms are unique, charming and very comfortable, and the terraced restaurant offers exceptional views, smells, aromas and conversation. The courtyard is a quiet and contemplative space. Our special features at Kasbah Omar are an exceptional hammam (steam bath), memorable cooking classes, and pottery workshops.

The Berbers are the indigenous Moroccan people and have lived in the river valleys for millennia. Experiencing this ancient culture is literally taking a walk back in time to a simpler way of life. In keeping with this refreshing simplicity, Kasbah Omar has no televisions; instead we encourage our guests to enjoy the live show of the mountains above, the valley below, and the quaint village of Anrar.

There is complimentary WiFi at Kasbah Omar.

Because of the one minute walk on the steep paths that lead to Kasbah Omar, it is not recommended for people with serious mobility issues.

Kasbah Omar donates 5% of it’s proceeds each year to the village of Anrar. Past projects have included building a road into the village, and help in building a community center where classes in Arabic, French and English are offered.
